Annoyed over a number of district and block-level officers not receiving calls from the public representatives and the common people, the Uttarkashi district magistrate, Prashant Arya said that stern disciplinary actions would be taken against such officers. “This reveals insensitivity towards the people’s problems, resulting in their delayed solution,” he said.
An order issued from the DM’s office stated that with phone calls remaining unanswered,
the people are being forced to make unnecessary trips to the district and block headquarters to resolve minor issues. As per the order, this tarnishes the image and credibility of the district administration.
Notably, the people have been voicing concerns over the continued indifference of senior officers towards their plight.
This order has also created a stir in the district administration, sparking speculations on how seriously the officials will take this stern directive.
