DM hears out problems of those affected by Song Dam project

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Tehri district magistrate Mayur Dixit inspected the villages affected by the Song Dam drinking water project and heard out the problems being faced by the affected families of Ragar Gaon and Ghursal Gaon among others.
While listening to the problems of the affected families, the DM said that the walls of the affected houses would be measured and their evaluation would be done. The administration would consider the demand of the partially affected families, he said. Instructions were given to the officers concerned to provide proper documents to the families whose names are missing in the list. He also agreed to extend the cut-off date. The company selected for the dam’s construction was told to provide employment to local people as per their qualifications.
