In latest news from Uttarakhand, acting on the chief minister’s directive, the district magistrate Savin Bansal sought suggestions from the tirth purohits of the fabled Mahasu Maharaj Temple at Hanol in Chakrata region and the locals prior to drawing up the master plan to make the temple a centre of religious tourism. The DM who spent the night there said that the master plan is being drawn up in consultation with the INI Design company. “With the execution of the master plan, the pilgrims and the tourists will be provided with all modern facilities,” he said, adding that the roads leading up to the shrine would be widened and expanded.
Besides, an approach road would be constructed that would lead up to the banks of Tons river. “This aside, there will be home stay facilities for those wishing for night stay,” the DM said.
He further said that once the master plan is executed, the locals would get avenues to boost their income. He urged them to register for home stay facilities.
