The district magistrate of Dehradun and chief executive officer (CEO) of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) R Rajesh Kumar conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed land site for the construction of a new Collectorate Complex at Haridwar Road under the smart city project. During the inspection, he gave necessary directions to the officials concerned. The officials informed the DM that the new building will be energy efficient and be prepared based on the green building concept. It will have a better parking system within the premises which would be able to easily accommodate parking of about 600 vehicles, as per the officials. The DM also directed the additional district magistrate (finance/revenue) to present the complete details of the land within the first week of April. Talking about the new building, Kumar said that offices of all the important departments would be shifted to the new building so that the public can get all facilities in one place rather than making visits to offices in different locations for various works. It is pertinent to mention here that the building will have offices of 75 departments including District Collectorate and Vikas Bhawan among others with a budget of about Rs 138 crore.
