DM interacts with locals, appeals for maintaining peace, informing about disruptive elements

Nainital district magistrate Vandana Singh has appealed to the religious gurus, public representatives and citizens in Haldwani to maintain peace. Chairing a meeting in the municipal corporation hall on Monday, she said that the administration is committed to providing all necessary facilities to the citizens.
The DM requested the responsible citizens of the city to inform the authorities about people with criminal tendencies so that such people can be punished as per the law. She said that followers of all religions live in harmony in Haldwani and that this atmosphere has to be maintained by all. She also appealed to the people to not pay heed to rumours.
The DM said that the people in Vanbhulpura area are being provided humanitarian assistance from time to time. All services will be resumed once the atmosphere in Vanbhulpura returns to normal, she said. The public was informed that essential items are being supplied while an ambulance is also available for patients and pregnant women of Vanbhulpura. Any person facing a problem should contact the officials, who will do their bit to resolve the issue, she said. She reiterated that the citizens should inform the police and administration about disruptive elements. She said that the citizens should also cooperate in ensuring that the few people guilty of wrongdoing are punished as per the law, while adding that the innocent will not face any action.
Senior superintendent of police Prahlad Narayan Meena, additional district magistrate Shiv Charan Dwivedi, municipal commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay and other officials were also present in the meeting.
