The Chamoli district magistrate Himanshu Khurana held a meeting with officials regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed Kedarnath visit during May. In case of bad weather or due to other probable causes, an alternative arrangement for helicopter landing and other facilities have to be made at Gauchar in the district during the PM’s visit. Khurana directed officials to ensure the needful regarding safe house, traffic, security, sanitation, communication and health at Gauchar.
In view of the possible Badrinath visit, officials of the departments concerned were directed to ensure all necessary arrangements. The PWD officials were directed to ensure that the Saket intersection road and the helipad road in Badrinath are repaired by April 25. Superintendent of police Shweta Choubey, Kedarnath divisional forest officer IS Negi and other officials were also present in the meeting.
