In view of the increasing demand for oxygen in the hospitals for the Covid affected patients, the Dehradun district magistrate directed the medical officers of the Covid hospitals to ask for oxygen supply at least 24 hours in advance in order to make it available on time. The DM Ashish Kumar Srivastava issued this instruction to the officials in a video conference on Friday. He directed the chief medical officer (CMO) to ensure that Covid-19 guidelines are being followed in the labs which are approved for Covid-19 testing by the administration besides directing the labs to update every detail in the portal regarding the people who get tested for Covid-19. Apart from this, Srivastava ordered the CMO to set 40 oxygen beds by Saturday in the Covid care centre established in Maharana Pratap Sports College at Raipur.

Besides this, he also instructed the officials concerned to check and maintain the fire hydrant system in the Covid hospitals. The DM also issued orders for private hospitals to reserve 70 per cent beds for the treatment of Covid-19 positive patients in the district.
