In latest news from Uttarakhand, ahead of the tourism season, the Nainital district magistrate Vandana ordered the sub-divisional magistrate Pramod Kumar and circle officers of Bhowali and Nainital to remove encroachments in Bhowali and Nainital to ensure that the tourists have a smooth ride while conducting an on-the ground inspection of Bhowali. She stressed on anti-encroachment drive being launched on a large scale against carts and food vans set up on roadsides. Besides, she directed the officers concerned to set up temporary parking space in Bhowali and to send proposals for repairing the walls around Bhimtal lake.
