The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal directed officials concerned to take immediate action on complaints of assault on elderly citizens and refer the matter to the senior citizen cell of the Police department for prompt resolution. Bansal received a total of 110 complaints in the hearing of public grievances on Monday.
During the public hearing, all complaints were registered on this newly introduced letter monitoring system app which was inaugurated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday. This app allows detailed tracking of complaints, including their resolution status and the desk where they are pending. The system aims to minimise the inconvenience faced by citizens in pursuing resolutions to their grievances, as per the DM. One of the complaints was about an assault on elderly citizens.
The DM directed the police to take immediate action. He also directed to take strict action on encroachment complaints. Bansal emphasised the importance of resolving complaints within stipulated timelines. He instructed departmental officers to handle public grievances seriously, warning that laxity will lead to disciplinary action. Cases requiring investigation or reports must be resolved within the set deadlines, he said.
