DM orders to mark possible parking spaces at dumping zones

The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika has directed the departments concerned to submit a report about the possibility of making parking spaces at the dumping zones marked for muck dumping during ongoing construction works. The DM stated this in a meeting on Wednesday with district officials along with representatives of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), THDC India Limited, Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL) and other executive agencies. She directed the sub divisional magistrates of Doiwala and Vikasnagar to conduct joint inspections of their respective areas with the police, Public Works Department (PWD) and transport department to mark all possible places to construct parking spaces. The DM also issued necessary guidelines to the concerned officials regarding land acquisition and distribution of compensation for NH projects. The officials informed her that the department concerned has distributed Rs 186 crore which were issued for compensations for the construction of Ballupur to Poanta Sahib Road. They also informed that the agencies have completed most of the land acquisition process for the road construction. The DM directed them to expedite the compensation process as per the rules while ensuring all objections are settled roster-wise. She also asked to complete the remaining acquisition work as soon as possible to ensure construction work finishes at time. She also directed the Vikasnagar SDM to send reports of resolved cases of acquitted land to the land officer concerned immediately to expedite the compensation distribution process.
