The movement of vehicles will remain prohibited on the stretch of national highway from Khairna to Kakdighat in Nainital district for four days from Tuesday to clear the heaps of debris accumulated due to the incessant rains last month.
The executive engineer of the National Highway, Sunil Kumar informed that during the heavy rains last month, heaps of debris had accumulated on the stretch from Khairna to Kakdighat due to which, the said route has become a potential accident-prone area.
Considering this, the officials requested the district magistrate of Nainital, Dhiraaj Singh Garbiyal to prohibit the movement of vehicles on the said route which he approved, stated Kumar. He informed that the DM has ordered to prohibit any vehicular movement on the route from November 11 to 14 in order to provide ample time for the removal of accumulated debris to prevent potential road accidents.
