DM reprimands companies for negligence in cleaning and door-to-door waste collection

The Dehradun district magistrate and the administrator of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) Savin Bansal reprimanded officials of various companies, which handle sanitation work in Dehradun, for failing to provide complete information on door-to-door waste collection.
The DM expressed strong dissatisfaction over the negligence and directed the authorities concerned to issue notices to the companies for not complying with contractual obligations. He also instructed to issue notices and impose penalties on them in accordance with the standards. During the review meeting of sanitation conditions of the city, Bansal addressed the inadequate number of vehicles deployed for the sanitation operations, showing particular disapproval for not meeting the specified requirements.
He emphasised that all companies involved must adhere to the established route plans and ensure thorough cleaning of garbage collection points across the city. He demanded the submission of route plans from the companies to better monitor their operations and instructed officials to take immediate action to maintain the cleanliness standards. The meeting was attended by additional municipal commissioner Bir Singh Budiyal, deputy municipal commissioner Gopal Ram Binwal and other senior officials of the MCD and representatives from the companies concerned.
