DM reviews arrangements at vote counting site

The district magistrate and district election officer of Dehradun, R Rajesh Kumar reviewed the final arrangements in the voting counting site set up at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Raipur on Wednesday.He also inspected the media centre and control room built at the counting site for proper monitoring. The DM directed the officials concerned to seriously follow the protocols on the vote counting day. He informed that 14 counters have been set up for counting of votes and 45 counters to count the votes of the Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS). The counting of votes will be completed in different rounds including 18 rounds in Dharampur, 17 in Chakrata, 16 in Sahaspur and Raipur, 14 in Doiwala, 13 in Rishikesh and Mussoorie and 11 in Rajpur and Dehradun cannt.He said that the entire vote counting process would be done under the surveillance of CCTV cameras which will be displayed on the television screen installed outside the hall. An adequate number of police and armed forces personnel will remain deployed as part of the security arrangements till the counting ends. The DM said that an adequate quantity of masks and sanitisers will be available at the counting site too. The district nodal officer of elections and municipal commissioner Abhishek Ruhela, additional district magistrate (Finance and Revenue) KK Mishra and returning officers (ROs) were also present during the inspection.
