The Udham Singh Nagar district magistrate Uday Raj Singh held a review meeting ahead of the crushing season 2024-25 of cooperative and public sector sugar mills.
At the meeting, the DM who is also the managing director of Uttarakhand Sahkari Chini Mills Sangha Limited reviewed the boiler up-gradation and other ongoing works in sugar mills at Kichha. He expressed displeasure over the slow progress of technical works at Nadehi and Bajpur sugar mills and decrease in sugarcane cultivation area as compared to last year. He also expressed concern over spike in electricity-related expenses in Bajpur Sugar Mill and directed officers concerned to prepare a list of those residing in mill premises sans authorisation. He stressed on vacating quarters of unauthorised residents.
