The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika held a review meeting of works carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on Tuesday. She directed the Dehradun municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar to give regular updates to district administration about works like door-to-door garbage collection, sanitation work in the city and street lights among others. She also asked the officials to provide information about how much land is owned by the MCD by dividing the area of the city zone wise and matching it with Khatauni. She also directed the deputy municipal commissioners to monitor the works in their respective areas and submit the reports to the administration. She also directed them to submit a thorough report on the installation of street lights with all details like how many are installed, how many are functioning and how many need to be repaired within five days. She has also sought a report on encroachment on MCD’s land. The DM asked the officials to divide the whole city into five zones and appoint an official to ensure proper work is being done under the supervision of the said official. She also asked the MCD officials to complete all their work in the stipulated time.
