The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal stayed overnight in Hanol on Wednesday and held an open meeting with temple priests, locals and other stakeholders at night and Thursday morning. He shared and discussed the proposed master plan with them and sought suggestions.
The officials concerned gave a detailed presentation on the Hanol tourist destination plan, covering the development of an arrival plaza, priest accommodations, temple beautification, queue management, parking, approach roads, rest houses, public utility complexes, rain shelters and a pathway for devotees.
The DM said that the master plan for Hanol is being developed through INI Design Company to enhance religious and tourism facilities. The plan includes widening and extending roads leading to Hanol, constructing an approach road to the riverbank and integrating the area with the home-stay scheme. Trekking routes, including the Kedarkantha trail, will also be developed. These efforts aim to boost pilgrimage and tourism, creating employment opportunities for local residents.
The DM also informed that families affected by the plan and land acquired for development will receive compensation as per regulations. Bansal also directed the INI Design Company to incorporate the increasing number of pilgrims and tourists, future requirements and local suggestions into the final plan.
