Under the drug- free India campaign, the district magistrate Mayur Dixit and senior superintendent of police Ayush Aggarwal jointly flagged off a van from the district collectorate in New Tehri on Tuesday meant to create public awareness about de-addiction.
Addressing the gathering, the district social welfare officer Kishan Singh Chauhan said that his department with the cooperation of the district administration and police has launched this drive to make people aware of the de-addiction campaign being conducted across the district through LED-equipped promotional vans, adding that it would cover various development blocks and even remote rural areas, stopping at the educational institutions inside the district. He further said that the drive would continue till February 4.
