The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal will stay overnight in Hanol on March 19 to review and make changes to the Hanol master plan according to his observations and feedback. He will also discuss the expansion and development of the temple at the temple complex with locals and priests, focusing on local interests and suggestions.
Bansal informed that to develop the Mahasu Devta temple in a structured manner, a tourist destination plan is being prepared by INI Design Company. He has instructed the company and the officials concerned to draft the plan in accordance with the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directives, considering the increasing number of pilgrims and tourists visiting Hanol daily and future requirements.
He said that the objective is to provide better facilities for visitors and create more employment opportunities for locals. He has also directed the company to include sewage and water supply systems in the proposed plan. A detailed survey of the floating population will be conducted to ensure systematic development. The plan will also cover the widening and expansion of access roads leading to Hanol and the construction of an approach road to the ghats along the Tons river.
The DM also informed that as part of the development, 50 per cent of the shops to be built at the Mahasu Devta temple will be allocated to self-help groups for selling local products.
