In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Haridwar district magistrate Karmendra Singh conducted unannounced inspection of several departmental offices on Friday to see whether the officers and employees were at their seats. He started the inspection a little after 10 AM. When he reached the Tehsil headquarters he found eight employees absent at the food and civic supply office. He ordered their salaries be withheld and asked them to explain their absenteeism.
