The team of Netflix movie ‘Do Patti’ including actor Kriti Sanon, producer and writer Kanika Dhillon along with other team members met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence here on Saturday. The movie is being shot in Dehradun and other parts of Uttarakhand.

The producer of the movie Kanika Dhillon said that the film was to be shot in Himachal Pradesh but later the Netflix team decided to do it in Uttarakhand. She said that there are various beautiful shooting locations in the State which she will include in her coming movies. Her team is out looking for other shooting locations near Dehradun. The shooting for ‘Do Patti’ will be held in various areas of the State for about one month, she added.

Dhillon and Sanon who are co-producing this movie informed the CM that they prepared their film production team in 20 days for shooting in Uttarakhand. This was possible due to the film-friendly environment in the State, they said. The duo further said that getting permission from the Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) for shooting in the State has become very easy through the single window system. The locations in the State are very suitable for destination film shooting, they added.

Dhami wished Dhillon and Sanon for the success of their film while also informing them that the new film policy of the UFDC is ready. The new policy includes increased grant while OTT platforms and webseries have also been made eligible for grants and other awards as a means of encouragement. The government is identifying new shooting destinations and making them convenient and accessible for shooting to further boost such activities in the State, he said.

According to Netflix, ‘Do Patti’ is a suspense thriller based in the mountains of north India. Actor Kajol said that the script of this movie is unique which promises a different mix of thrill and suspense. This is Sanon’s first movie as a producer. The movie project head RS Pipalwa, UFDC CEO and Information director general Banshidhar Tiwari and Information joint director Nitin Upadhyaya, among others were also present during the meeting at CM residence.
