Argue that they are at forefront of war against Covid-19 and are exposed to infection

The combined forum of associations of doctors, nurses and Lab Technicians has demanded that special allowance should be paid to the health workers who are at the forefront of the war against Covid-19. A meeting of the forum was organised at the health directorate on Monday in which discussion on the issues of common concern was held. On the issue of salary deduction, the forum unanimously decided that everyone should patiently wait for the decision of the government. The doctors and nurses were recently assured by the administration that the salary cut decision would be taken back in the next cabinet meeting. On the special allowance for the health workers, the forum said that the demand is justified since the health workers are in constant danger of getting infected while treating Covid-19 patients. It was also decided that a request should be made to the state administration about reservation of beds in Covid hospitals for the health department personnel and their relatives.

The representatives of the three associations assured full cooperation to the authorities.

The meeting was attended by president of Provincial Medical Health Association (PMHS), Dr Naresh Napalchayal, Dr Manoj Mishra, President of Nurses Association Meenakshi Jakhmola and Secretary of Lab Technicians associations Manoj Mishra.
