The Dehradun mayor, Saurabh Thapliyal inaugurated newly constructed roads in Indirapuram on Wednesday, under the Cantt Assembly constituency, as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve civic amenities. Among those present were the MLA Savita Kapoor and ward councillor Babita Gupta.
Residents said that the poor condition of roads had been a long-standing issue, causing inconvenience during daily commuting, waterlogging during rains and difficulties for schoolchildren and elderly citizens. They added that the newly constructed roads are expected to improve connectivity, safety and overall living conditions in the locality. Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said that the municipal corporation is committed to ensuring balanced development across all wards. “The infrastructure development remains a priority and work is being carried out at a steady pace in different parts of the city,” he said.
The MLA also said that continuous monitoring is being done to ensure quality work.
