Dehradun police arrested a man for the alleged sexual assault against his sister. The officials informed that a woman had filed a complaint on April 21 stating that she lives in a rented house in the Raipur area of the city along with her older brother who is an e-rickshaw driver. She said in the complaint that they basically belong to Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and that their parents got divorced many years ago. She has currently no idea where they live, as per the officials.
According to them, the woman has accused her brother of drugging her at night and allegedly raping her multiple times. As per the victim, her brother used to threaten to burn her face with acid or brutally assault her if she rejects him, said the officials. The woman is also allegedly one month pregnant too. The officials said that the police filed a case against the accused under the relevant sections and handed over the case to sub inspector Tanuja Sharma.
A police team was formed on the orders of Dehradun senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar which nabbed the brother from the Ring Road area on April 21 within 12 hours of registering the complaint. The officials said that the police presented the accused before the court after questioning him. The court has sent him to jail in judicial custody, added officials.
