In view of the Defence minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Dehradun on Saturday, the senior police officers briefed the police force deployed for his security. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dehradun Sarita Dobhal, SP (Crime) Mithlesh Singh and SP (Rural) Kamlesh Upadhyay directed the inspector incharge of Doiwala to coordinate with the Forest department to deploy employees to prevent the potential intrusion of wild animals around the Dehradun airport. He was also asked to ensure the verification of outsiders living near the airport as part of a security arrangement. The officials directed the police force engaged in the VVIP duty to follow Covid-19 protocols as per the guidelines. “Only authorised persons and their vehicles should be allowed inside. Persons meeting VVIPs should also be closely monitored by the security and only listed people should be allowed inside after the anti-sabotage checking,” directed the police officials. The nodal police officers were also asked to ensure that all the police officials deployed in uniforms and plain clothes must stay in their allotted position. The SP (crime) asked the deployed police officials not to leave their positions at the time of duty and prohibited them from using mobile phones during duty. The officials warned of taking strict actions against the member of the police force who acts negligently on its VVIP duty on Saturday.
