Doon police impose traffic restrictions for Eid-ul-Fitr

Dehradun police will regulate the movement of traffic on Saturday in view of the Namaz to be held at various Eidgahs  across the city on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. The officials said that several routes will remain diverted from 7 AM till the Namaz gets over on Eid. The police will install barriers at eight points in the city which are Clock Tower, Bindal Chowk, Kishannagar Chowk, Ballupur Chowk, Kaulagarh Chowk, Turner Road, Subhashnagar junction and Chandrabandani Chowk.

The officials informed that routes will be diverted around Bindal Eidgah and Clementown Eidgah to ensure people of muslim community will not have to face inconvenience in Namaz reading. They said that no vehicle will move from Clock Tower towards Chakrata Road and vehicles going to Cantt and Ballupur from Darshanlal Chowk via Clock Tower will be diverted towards Rajpur Road. Vehicles will be allowed to go to Ballupur via Rajpur Road. The traffic arriving from Kishannagar Chowk towards the city will be diverted towards Dilaram and Ballupur Chowk via Cantt and Kaulagarh respectively. 

The traffic arriving from Ballupur towards the city will be diverted to Cantt or Balliwala Chowk by installing a barrier at Ballupur. For the Clementown Eidgah area, the traffic arriving from Saharanpur and Delhi will be diverted from Chandrabani turn towards Wildlife Institute which will be sent towards ISBT via GMS Road and Shimla bypass. The traffic moving from ISBT to Saharanpur and Delhi routes will be diverted from Turner Road via Clement Town Police Station towards Delhi and Saharanpur via Subhashnagar. The officials said that all heavy vehicles will be stopped at RTO check posts and trucks arriving from Rispana will be stopped near the old bypass post. They asked the citizens to commute according to the traffic plan and use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience. The changes in traffic regulation will not be applicable for on-duty government vehicles and vehicles involved in emergency services, added the officials.
