Sunday, 08 May | PNS | Dehradun
Deputy inspector general and Dehradun senior superintendent of police Janmejaya Khanduri launched a music video prepared by the Traffic police to raise public awareness on action being taken against improperly parked vehicles. The police have been enforcing no-parking zones and taking action on vehicles parked in such areas and on the roadsides using clamps or towing such vehicles. A music video prepared to make this activity more effective and raise public awareness was launched by Khanduri on Saturday. Traffic police constable Dharmendra Kumar has composed the music and sung in this video. The purpose of this video is to raise public awareness on traffic rules, discourage people from parking in no-parking zones and encourage them to park in the designated sites. The video informs that vehicles parked in the no-parking zones will be towed away and challan will also be issued under Motor Vehicles Act 1988. The traffic police will play this video on towing crane vehicles and clamp vehicles to further develop an understanding of the traffic rules among the public. It is pertinent to mention here that in view of increasing traffic woes in the provisional state capital, the police have stepped up various measures including action against wrongly parked vehicles in the city.
