Doon police nab four involved in robbery case

The Dehradun police arrested four robbers who had looted a house in Race Course area on November 28 after manhandling and holding the owner hostage. The owner was getting ready to go for his morning walk around 4 AM on that day when the three unknown men grabbed him and took him inside his home and held him hostage at gunpoint. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police (SSP) Daleep Singh Kunwar stated it in a Press conference on Wednesday. He said that five robbers were involved in the robbery who took away his car and robbed Rs four lakh cash and six watches worth about Rs 12 lakh from.
The police teams were sent in neighbouring states like Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi to conduct investigations. The team also analysed 700 CCTV footage installed near the incident site to gather more evidence against robbers. The SSP said that the police received information about one of the accused Atul Rana and arrested him on Tuesday night from Meerut. Three accused- Sushil Rana, Amrit and Deepak Kumar were arrested from near Asharodi on Wednesday on the basis of the information provided by the accused Atul Rana. The police have recovered three illegal pistols and revolvers besides six watches, debit cards and passbooks that belong to the victim. The SSP said that the arrested robbers have a long criminal history and they would soon nab the fifth absconded accused too.
