Doon police removing flexes, banners after MCC kicks in

In latest news from Doon, after the announcement of the poll date followed by the kicking in of the model code of conduct (MCC) in the State, the Doon police have launched operation to remove flex boards, banners, festoons and flags from the government properties in adherence to the Election Commission norms. Informing, the senior superintendent of police Dehradun Ajai Singh said that 72 teams are now executing the operation and on the first day, over 805 flexes, posters, festoons and banners have been removed across the Dehradun district. Besides, police are removing flags and stickers of political parties from vehicles during vehicle checking drives, he added.    Further, flag marches of paramilitary and police forces were conducted. The SSP said that all the police station in-charges have been directed to go all-out in their respective areas to ensure peaceful electioneering.
