Dehradun police rescued a 15-year-old boy who had been missing from the Doiwala area, recovering him from Haridwar on Tuesday. The operation was part of ‘Operation Smile,’ a campaign dedicated to locating missing children and reuniting them with their families.

According to police officials, on April 10, a resident of Najibabad in Bijnor district filed a report at the Doiwala police station. He stated that he and his family were living in a rented house near Sain Chowki in the Jollygrant area and that his 15-year-old son had left home without informing anyone. Despite extensive efforts to locate him, the boy was nowhere to be found. Following the report, the police registered an FIR.

Considering the sensitivity of the case, the senior superintendent of police, Dehradun, Pramendra Dobal, directed a team from Kotwali Doiwala to locate the missing child, as reported by police officials.

They further informed that as part of their investigation, the team reviewed CCTV footage from the residence and surrounding areas, activated their informer network and disseminated information about the boy on social media and other platforms. They also established coordination with neighbouring districts.

On April 15,  police received information about the boy being spotted in Haridwar. Acting quickly, the team recovered the minor and reunited him with his family.
