Doon receives intense spells, orange alert issued for Bageshwar

As witnessed on Wednesday, the weather took a turn after sunset in Dehradun which once again witnessed intense spells of rain with thunder and lightning on Thursday night. For Friday, the State meteorological centre has issued an orange alert (Be Prepared) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Bageshwar district. A yellow warning (Be Updated) has also been issued regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Chamoli, Nainital and Pithoragarh districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense/heavy in some areas.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Thursday were 31.2 degrees Celsius and 23.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.5 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.2 degrees Celsius and 14.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.5 degrees Celsius and 17.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
