The Dehradun-based women-run self-help group Swadesh Kutumb operating under the Dehradun Municipal Corporation set up a stall in Amrit Udyan in Rashtrapati Bhavan premises in New Delhi under a project implemented by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs with the objective of marketing self-help group products. The exhibition cum sale was held from February 8 to 16. The programme had been organised under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission and the stall had mainly sold idols of deities, home decors and incense sticks made from cow dung all produced by the women members of the self-help group. The municipal commissioner of Dehradun Municipal Corporation Namami Bansal said that a large number of people thronged the stall and purchased products.
