Doon University releases second waiting merit list-2025

The Doon University declared its second waiting merit list- 2025 on Friday for students applying to its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes this year on the university’s official website. This information was shared by the university’s registrar, Durgesh Dimri.

He informed that an entrance exam was conducted on June 22 to select candidates for the programmes offered by the university. Following this, the university administration published the examination results on its official site. The merit list for the university’s programmes has been recently released, allowing the admission process to begin. However, some reserved seats for specific courses remain unfilled during the admission process, prompting the university to issue a first waiting merit list. Following the announcement of this list, the university administration noted that there are still additional vacant seats. Consequently, the university administration started preparing to declare the second waiting merit list. Considering this, the university declared the second waiting merit list for UG and PG programmes on Friday, he said. 

Dimri further informed that admissions will be granted based on merit for remaining seats. Candidates on the second waiting list must report by 12 PM on August 4. If anyone is unable to attend in person due to distance, the candidate should contact the head of the department regarding admission, he added 

It will be recalled that a total of 3,327 students registered for the entrance exam, with 2,792 actually taking part, resulting in an attendance rate of 84 per cent. This year, there are 910 seats available for UG courses and 650 for PG courses. Additionally, a new Master of Arts in Hindu Studies programme has been introduced, providing 20 seats for interested candidates. In this Hindu Studies programme, students will learn about the Veda, Mahabharata, Ramayana and many other historical texts. This will lead them to equip for careers in research, teaching and other fields.
