Doon University to hold its 4th Convocation on Nov 6

Doon University is set to hold its fourth convocation ceremony on November 6 to be presided over by the Chancellor and the Governor of the State Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh. Besides the Governor, the State chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat would attend the convocation, the DU officials said on Friday, adding that the renowned space scientist and the former chairperson of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who is also known as ‘Rocket Man’ K Sivan would deliver the convocation address in the ceremony. They further informed that 34 students who were the toppers in their respective subjects would be awarded gold medals in course of the convocation. During the convocation, the academic procession would be led by the registrar of the university, M S Mandarwal.
The vice- chancellor Prof Surekha Dangwal will confer 423 graduate, 302 postgraduate, and 17 doctoral degrees to students who have passed out in 2022. Furthermore, the Chancellor will felicitate four alumni as ‘Distinguished Alumni of the University’ in recognition of their remarkable contributions in their respective fields. They are Dayakrishn Purohit for Physics, Divyansha Rana for Content Analysis, Rahul Kotiyal for Journalism and Rahul Tyagi for Public Administration.
