Before the start of the heli service for Kedarnath, efforts are intensified to install Doppler radars to get accurate information about the weather. It is learnt that to avoid accident involving heli service in Kedarghati, negotiation on technical cooperation on the installation of Doppler Radars has been going on between the Civil Aviation Authority of India and Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority. Notably, the weather worsens suddenly in the Kedarghati region. Before taking off, the pilots do not have prior information about how the weather will be. This is why efforts are being made to install Doppler radars in this region. This aside, CCTV cameras are being installed at the behest of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority at different places in the region. Through these cameras, reports about weather would reach the disaster control room and then the pilots and the heli companies would be informed through wireless systems.
