In latest news from Uttarakhand, back to back tremors jolted Uttarkashi district in the morning. The first tremor came at 7:41 AM whose intensity was measured on the Richter scale at 2.7 and its epicentre was located near Tiloth under Bhatwari block. The second tremor was felt at 8:19 AM whose intensity was 3.5 and its epicentre was in the forest areas of Dayara Bugyal. However, no loss of life or property was reported from anywhere. The administration assured the people that they should not panic, adding that alert, they were constantly monitoring the situation.
The seismologists say that such mild tremors are normal in the mountainous areas, particularly in the Himalayas. What the people should do is to exercise caution while constructing their homes to remain safe even if earthquake occurs, they said.
