Register sanitation related complaints in Swachhata-MoHUA app : Joshi

For the immediate and effective redressal of any sanitation related issue in the Dehradun city, locals can download Swachhata-MoHUA app and upload pictures with relevant details to file complain which will be received by the management of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) for prompt action.

Stating this, the chief municipal health officer Dr Kailash Joshi said that the corporation is working hard to improve sanitation facilities in the city but still, if anyone notices any issue in a particular area like roadside garbage, choked drains, overfilled trash bins or someone dumping garbage in a public area, they can click pictures or make a video and upload them in the Swacchata-MoHUA app launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). In this app, the complainant can even check the status of his or her complaint. According to Joshi, the status of a complaint is marked as resolved in the app when the matter is settled by the corporation which can be checked by the complainant too. Moreover, Joshi appealed people to download this app and register their complaints as much as possible because it will help to improve sanitation facilities in the city besides increasing the possibility of getting a higher position in Swacch Survekshan 2021. He said that the participation of residents of the city along with the efforts of MCD to maintain better sanitation facilities in Dehradun is important and this app provides a platform to do the same.

It is noteworthy to mention here that MCD achieved 124th position in the Swacch Survekshan 2020 and now the corporation is trying to get into the top 100 cleanest cities of the country in the Swacch Survekshan 2021 and to achieve it, the corporation is adopting all the possible measures. Since the roadside garbage is one of the major challenges for the MCD to tackle, the corporation is also planning to start door to door service in all the wards and strictly enforce it so that people avoid dumping garbage in roadside areas. The officials stated that the corporation is doing their work but the active participation and cooperation of residents is also essential to maintain better sanitation facilities in the city.
