The DM held a meeting with dairy operators on Monday in the presence of the officials of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD), the Animal Husbandry department and Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) to discuss the operation of dairies in Dehradun as per the rules. She also asked MCD to coordinate with dairies to ensure cow dung is disposed of properly. He ordered the dairy operators to not release unproductive cattle and male calves on roads. She directed the chief veterinary officer to carry out the tagging process of cattle. The DM also ordered the veterinary officer to register the calves/heifers being born in the dairy according to their gender to monitor them. The municipal commissioner informed the DM that he has directed to form a joint team of MCD officials, UEPPCB and the animal husbandry department to submit a report against the violations being done in dairies.
