Drishti’s charity eye clinic inaugurated in Doon

The former chief of army staff, general (retd) VP Malik inaugurated Drishti Eye institute’s charity eye clinic here on Sunday. The institute also organised an eye screening camp for the residents of Shigally village in memory of its founder Dr MC Luthra.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Malik shared his memories of Dehradun and recalled his connection with Dr MC Luthra.
According to the institute officials, after Drishti relocated to Subhash Road, Dr Luthra started offering free consultation to poor patients in his old clinic at Astley Hall, and turned it into a charity set up. Since then, Drishti Foundation has helped people with expert eyecare, surgeries and treatment. Recently Drishti Eye Institute has been recognised as a centre for excellence in eye care services by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals(NABH).
