Driver & four family members dead in Bhowali road mishap

Five persons including four members of a family were killed when their car fell down the mountainside on the Bhowali Sanitorium-Ratighat bypass on Thursday. The car registered in Uttar Pradesh fell about 200 metres down the mountainside near Dhela village killing five persons on the spot.
According to sources, the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle some distance from Dhela. Those killed in the mishap were identified as Khatima natives Bhupendra Singh Chufal (48) his wife Seema Kaida Chufal (45), their son Vasu Chufal (19), daughter Raavi (12) and the driver, Lucknow native Anuj Kumar Mishra (34).
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police and other personnel along with the locals reached the site to extricate the bodies which were sent to the Bhowali community health centre. According to information received, Chufal was the CEO of a private medical company in Lucknow. Along with his wife and two children, he was going towards a relative’s resort in Bhowali village. However, their car met with a mishap at a turn about four kilometres from the resort.
