In latest news from Uttarakhand, the in-charge chief education officer (CEO) of Pauri district Nagendra Barthwal has taken a serious note of a teacher having entered his school in inebriated condition and directed the divisional education officer to send a detailed report on the matter. Notably, a video purportedly showing a drunken teacher arguing with an annoyed villager has gone viral on the social media platforms, triggering collective criticism of the teacher. The pre-secondary government school is situated in Kot block.
Villagers alleged that the teacher was known for pulling up students, staff members and villagers for nothing. They asked the education department to take immediate action against the errant teacher failing which they would be compelled to launch agitation.
