Dry spell resumes, temperatures remain below normal

After a brief spell of light rain and snowfall lasting two days, the weather has remained dry in Uttarakhand. However, the brief spell of rain and snowfall has brought the winter chill in the State with temperatures in various places remaining below normal. The minimum temperature in Dehradun was three degrees Celsius below normal on Thursday while a similar drop from the normal temperature was witnessed in other parts of the State.
The State Meteorological Centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the State on Friday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 25 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Thursday were 23.8 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23.3 degrees Celsius and 3.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.4 degrees Celsius and 6.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.5 degrees Celsius and 4.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was one degree Celsius above normal while the minimum was three degrees below normal in Dehradun. The maximum was a degree below normal while the minimum was three degrees below normal in Pantnagar. Both the maximum and minimum temperatures were three degrees above normal in Mukteshwar while the maximum was a degree below normal in New Tehri.
