Dry weather, above normal temperatures forecast in State today

After a two-day spell which saw light rain, hail and gusty winds in the plains with light snowfall in the higher reaches, the weather in the State is likely to return to dry conditions today. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather will prevail in all districts of the State on Monday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the temperatures recorded in Dehradun and other parts of the State were a few notches above normal on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 32.6 degrees Celsius and 18.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.4 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsiusin Mukteshwar and 22.1 degrees Celsius and 10.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures were both three degrees above normal in Dehradun while in Pantnagar both the maximum and minimum were five degrees above normal. In Mukteshwar the maximum and minimum temperatures were a degree above normal while in New Tehri the maximum and minimum were a degree below normal. Trace rainfall was reported in Dehradun, New Tehri with very light rainfall in Almora on Sunday.
