Dry weather likely today after rain & snowfall

Rain and snowfall was reported in the mountainous regions while places including Dehradun witnessed a mostly cloudy sky on Tuesday. Snowfall was witnessed in higher altitude regions including the Char Dham while rain was reported in the lower mountainous regions. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts today. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of ground frost likely to occur at isolated places in the mountains of the State on Wednesday.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were 20.5 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 24 degrees Celsius and 9.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 6.6 degrees Celsius and 4.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 9.6 degrees Celsius and 4.9 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. As far as rain is concerned, 12.5 millimetres was recorded in Joshimath, three millimetres in Devidhura, 2.9 millimetres in Pithoragarh, two millimetres in Lohaghat and a millimetre in Khatima.
