DSCL bags award in Safe City category of Smart Cities India Awards

The Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) has bagged an award in the Safe City category of Smart Cities India Awards 2022. The district magistrate of Dehradun and chief executive officer (CEO) of DSCL, R Rajesh Kumar informed that a proposal was submitted by the DSCL team under the Safe City category of the award explaining different works being done under the Doon Integrated Command and Control Centre (DICCC). Talking about the initiative taken under this project, he said that DSCL has installed cameras at 536 different locations in the city that has prevented traffic issues like overspeeding to a greater extent and so far, the authorities have issued a total of 41,567 challans due to this initiative. A total of 58 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras have also been installed at entry and exit points of the city. Besides this, DSCL has installed Emergency Call Boxes (ECBs) at 107 locations, Public Announcement System (PAS) at 24 locations and 50 Variable Message Display Boards (VMDs) in the city. Kumar said that DSCL has won this award due to such initiatives in the city. The CEO said, “I am happy to share that Dehradun Smart City has earned several awards based on its work. Awards give recognition to our work and also increase the morale of the team. I am certain that DSCL will continue to carry out such works.”He said that the team will receive the award on March 25 in an award ceremony to be organised at Pragati Maidan in Delhi by the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). It will be attended by the Union minister of State in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma and joint secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Anju Bhalla.
