The Dehradun district magistrate and chief executive officer (CEO) of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) R Rajesh Kumar expressed his disappointment to the officials concerned for the slow work and negligence in the Smart City projects during the inspection of the construction works under the project on Thursday. He said that a First Information Report (FIR) will be registered against those who  remain apathetic towards the works under DSCL.

During the inspection of the construction work from Cross Road Mall route to Araghar, Kumar called the ongoing construction of the upper part of the sewer line by Jal Sansthan as being of substandard quality and directed the officials concerned to complete it within three days properly. The DM was also furious over the pits dug on the roads and construction material scattered on streets by Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) to lay gas pipelines. He has directed the company to finish the work with guidelines within the given time. He has also instructed to increase the number of workers and carry out most of the work at night to work in a systematic manner to avoid inconvenience to the public.

During the inspection, the DM directed the officers of DSCL and executive organisations concerned to work at the ground level to monitor the work in order to finish the work on time. He said that FIR will be registered against the officials who will not work responsibly for the smart city project.
