Duo from Ramnagar wins gold at State Masters Badminton Championship

The players from Ramnagar performed impressively at the State Masters Badminton Championship held at the mini stadium in Haldwani. In the 40+ doubles category, the pair of Manas Sah and Pawan Gupta clinched the gold medal. With this victory, the duo has also qualified for the National Masters Badminton Championship, which is slated later this month at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Badminton Stadium in Goa. The players will now represent Uttarakhand at the national level.
Congratulating the winners on their achievement, the Kumaon commissioner, Deepak Rawat expressed confidence that they would continue with their winning streak.
Several sports officials and coaches also lauded the players for their success. Among those who conveyed their congratulations were international coach D K Sen, Nainital district sports officer Nirmala Tiwari; former assistant director of Sports, Suresh Pandey and Uttaranchal Badminton Association secretary B S Mankoti.
