The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the guideline issued by the administration to eateries and vendors on the Kanwad Yatra route to display the name of the proprietor is important for the sentiments and safety of the devotees. Responding to statements of Congress leaders opposing this, the BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt alleged that the Congress is anti-Sanatan. The Congress plays duplicitous politics, which is why it always supports the mentality of concealing one’s identity, he said.
Bhatt said, “The police and administration have to take strong measures for facilitating any Yatra and maintaining the law and order, for which suitable guidelines have to be prepared. It is important to tend to the sentiments of Kanwadias and devotees during the sacred month of Sawan. There have been some incidents in recent years which created law and order situations. Some directions have been issued to prevent reoccurrence of such incidents and these instructions are equally applicable to followers of all religions.”
The BJP State chief further alleged that the Congress is playing politics on this issue. It would have been better had it welcomed the police guidelines and cooperated for a successful and safe Kanwad Yatra. However, the Congress has exposed its mentality by raising politically motivated questions, spreading confusion and lies without knowing the real purpose behind the guidelines, he added. Bhatt questioned why the Congress always stands in support of those who intend to conceal their identity, whether it be Rohingyas looting the nation’s resources, those indulging in land Jihad, those changing their names to carry on love Jihad and those using lies and inducement for religious conversion. Congress leaders are opposing directions for vendors to display their names during the Kanwad Yatra as part of their vote bank and appeasement politics. “On the one hand, the Congress is taking out a political demonstration on the subject of Kedarnath Dham to affect the Char Dham Yatra and on the other hand it is opposing the administrative guidelines to affect the arrangements made for the Kanwad Yatra. Such a politically duplicitous stance of the Congress encourages the tendency to conceal the identity or intention and spread rumours,” Bhatt said.
