Durgeshwar Lal, an independent candidate from Purola, Uttarakhand has joined hands with the Congress Party. He expressed his immense faith in the party in the presence of Ganesh Godiyal who belongs to the Indian National Congress in Uttarakhand and is currently serving as the president of the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee. In 2017, Lal contested the elections and was a strong competition to both BJP and Congress. He had received 14000 votes in total. It is being speculated that he will contest the elections in 2022 from Congress as the MLA from the party has joined hands with BJP.
