The portals of the Dwitiya Kedar shrine, Madmaheshwar in Rudraprayag district were reopened for the next six months at 10:30 AM on Monday. With Covid guidelines in force, only a limited number of people were present at the shrine on the occasion.
The Utsav Doli of lord Madmaheshwar reached the shrine at 5:30 AM after which it circumambulated the temple three times. The ritual procedure of reopening the shrine was conducted in the presence of priests, local officials and few locals. It is pertinent to mention here that all the Char Dham shrines are now open though the Char Dham Yatra remains suspended by the government due to the Covid-19 surge.
The Tritiya Kedar- Tungnath and Chaturth Kedar- Rudranath were also reopened on May 17.
