Earthian programme held at Him Jyoti School

The Him Jyoti School in collaboration with the Nature Science Initiative organised the Earthian programme on Saturday. The event commemorated the national and regional winners of the Earthian Awards in 2024. During the programme, Nanakmatta Public School from Uttarakhand won the Earthian Prize which is India’s top award for Sustainability Education from the Wipro Foundation. Additionally, two other schools, Little Scholars (Kashipur) and Colonel Brown School (Dehradun), were among the top 40. Apart from this, Him Jyoti School, Bajaj Institute of Learning (for the deaf) and Maa Anandmayee Memorial School won the Earthian Regional Awards for 2024 and were listed among the top 100 schools.
During the programme, the participating schools set up an exhibition showcasing their findings to visiting scientists, outlining various innovative solutions to environmental issues facing our nation in the age of climate change. Additionally, many other schools from Uttarakhand also participated in the challenging Earthian competition, researching issues on waste, water and biodiversity on their campuses. Noted expert Trevor Price and other guests appreciated the quality of work produced by the schools and the independent findings of various student groups.
